This may be fun for folks to look at. Has to be the most familiar destination, the infamous Agulawok. I couldn’t get a bird’s eye view.
TRAVEL LOG :: HANGIN’ TEN
Even the mildest of Winters in Aleknagik can chill you down to your core. Kind of liek human permafrost. Thanks in part to a great mileage program (industry best) from Alaska Airlines that really takes of the residents of Alaska AND having all their ducks in a row, our caretakers
STATE BASKETBAL TOURNEY :: 2ND YEAR
A big congrats goes out to our very own mr-fix-it [Brian Alexander - longtime Mission Lodge caretaker/maintenance guru] for being chosen again this year to officiate at the Alaska State Boy’s High School Basketball Tournament! All of us ‘Brian Fans’ want to see an action shot or two from this year’s tourney action [hint, hint] — not saying that this looks like a mug shot, but well, ya know…
a quote from the man himself
———————————-
Basketball officiating is somewhat of a passion for me. It has provided me
to travel all over the state of Alaska. Barrow,( where I tasted a fermented
blood dish) Nome, (end of the Iditarod race), Kotzebue, Bethel,( tasted
seal) Unalaska ( of deadliest catch fame). I am stranded here in Unalaska as
I write. Crab pots stacked 10 stories high and filling up a football field
is quite a sight.Chasing these kids up and down the floor is a challenge at my age. But it is
one of my ideas of having fun!Ref. Brian Alexander

Winter Caretaker [travel] Report
Has global warming gone too far? This doesn’t look like the Aleknagik that we left back in late September and why is our caretaker and his wife on horseback? You would think that our pesky bears would eat those horses.
No, actually Brian and BJ got to take a much needed and desired break and enjoyed some sunny warm[er] weather in Arizona.
